Frequently asked questions.
Can we bring our own caterer?
Yes! You have full flexibility with the suppliers you use, including caterers. We just ask that they are all professional businesses, and can provide a copy of their Public Liability Insurance. There is space for the caterers to work from a catering tent - the tent and all equipment must be hired by yourselves or the caterers.
Do you charge corkage?
No, you are welcome to stock your whole event yourselves, or use a bar company. We do not charge corkage.
How long do we have access to the barn?
For weekend bookings, you have the barn and gardens exclusively from 12pm Thursday - 10am Monday.
For midweek bookings, you have the barn and gardens exclusively from 12pm Monday - 10am Thursday.
This means you have time to set up, and time to clear down or arrange any collections after your wedding or party.
What time does our event have to end?
Music needs to finish at 11.30pm, with all guests departing by midnight.
Can we throw confetti?
Yes! But please make sure it’s natural, dried or fresh, petals.
Can we get married at Buggs Barn?
You can host a symbolic ceremony here, but we are not currently licenced for civil ceremonies. St Andrew’s Church, Little Glemham is very close by if you are interested in a church ceremony.
At Buggs Barn, you have full flexibility to host a non legal ceremony. You can work with a celebrant, or have a friend or family member lead your ceremony inside or outside at Buggs Barn, but it will not be legally binding.
Do we need to clean the barn?
We ask that you leave the barn as you found it. Your hire period begins with a blank, clean barn for you to fill as you wish. By the end of your hire period we ask that all items have been collected, the barn is clear and tidy and all rubbish is taken away by you or your caterers.
